Milly Warbucks is a talented Hip-Hop artist from Brooklyn, New York with an upbeat commercial sound. We were delighted when he agreed to complete a feature interview for Essential Pop, so that we could share his music with you. Read on to find out about what Milly is currently working on, what he’s hoping to achieve for the rest of 2011 and which modern day artists he looks up to.
What are you hoping to achieve in 2011?
Notoriety and an opportunity to display my talents on a national and international level. I’d love to have the opportunity to be a successful artist in the music industry.
Is there anyone you would like to collaborate or gig with?
Phil Collins, Diddy, Jay-Z, Donnelle Jones. I’m a fan of these artists for different reasons, and i would be greatful to be able to work with them and if i did I would guarantee classic music.
What is your creative process for creating a track?
Depends sometimes its random other times its a past situation the track plays a huge role,i like to zone out to the track and feel it and become one with the music..
What’s it like being where you’re from?
I’m from East New York (Brooklyn). Its a place where only the strong survive and the lucky ones makes it out. The positive outlook is that it made me who I am and I can deal with anything that comes my way.
What do you do to relax?
Hang at home on the couch with a classic movie, or sit in my shower and let the water run on me, or hop in my Range Rover and take a nice drive to ease my mind.
Which modern day artists do you look up to?
All of them that have successful careers but more the ones who have other successful ventures besides music,those artist push me to work harder and to expect more from my career.
What are you currently working on?
Wrapping up my debut album and preparing for shows to promote the single thats released, and staying focused on the ultimate goal which is to keep making progress and exceeding limits and breaking down barriers that’s faced by a new independent artist.
